RAPUNZEL - SUMMER WORKSHOP
Applicants must be between 6 - 16 years old. No previous experience is required and there is no need to prepare anything in advance.
All successful applicants will receive tuition from our fully trained and DBS-checked staff. During our Rapunzel workshops, performers will engage in classes and activities to develop their singing, acting and dancing skills. Work will then be showcased in an incredibly unique opportunity - appearing in our professional production of Rapunzel - A Tangled Tale at the Playhouse Whitley Bay!
WORKSHOP DATES AND PERFORMANCES
Dates: Friday 24th July - Tuesday 28th July 2026
Time: 9:30am - 3:00pm
Venue: Studio 39, Royal Quays, North Shields, NE29 6DW
Cost: £185 total (including Rapunzel souvenir t-shirt)
Production Dates: Wednesday 29th July & Thursday 30th July 2026 at the Playhouse Whitley Bay (performers will feature in 2 performances, 1 performance on each date)
THE LITTLE MERMAID - CHRISTMAS
We’re diving deep under the sea to find talented local children to join the cast of our magical Christmas pantomime – THE LITTLE MERMAID – at the beautifully restored Roxy Theatre, Leadgate, and you can be a part of it!
Applicants must be between 8 - 16 years old. No previous experience is required and there is no need to prepare anything in advance.
Rehearsals will be held from Tuesday 1st December 2026, mainly outside of school time (final schedule TBC). Any time required during school time will be discussed and arranged in advance and will be processed through a performance license.
28 Performances will be shared between two teams of 8 children, between the dates of 12th - 28th December 2026. Each Mini Mermaid or Merman will also be required as a standby for their equivalent in the opposite team.

Professional Performers
Casting is open from February to September each year. Please provide us with a CV, headshot and covering letter including contact details for yourself (or your agent) and where you are based.
